This is the pics of a replacement nose
from Bus Depot that i installed on a 71 Westy belonging to Ric Jablonski of
Roan Mnt,Tenn.
The nose skin orginated from RMMW if i'm not mistaken ,,Major differences are
as follows ,,,,,does not extend all the way to the bottom of the front of the
bus behind the bumper, turn signals are at the top around the vent like on a
73 up bus,,,and the vw emblem area of the skin is raised like a 73 up bus ,,the
following pics show the differences and what i did to correct all but the emblem
section ,,thanks ,,Kelly
This is whats under the nose ,,,ewwwwwwwwwwww
This is the nose fitted on the front and the edges at the doors folded into place ,,
I personally do not butt weld in a stress area unless i have to so i didn't i cut the posts so i could interlock it into the windshield area ,,the lip at the dash was spot welded in later
Another with the welds....
Drivers side view ...
Here is the blank cut from the old nose section and trimmed to fit in the pace for the later model turnsignal and also to change the vent area shape back to orginal 71 style
Want a half 71and half 73 up hehehe
The drivers side patch in place ,,notice small short welds to keep the heat down ,,this patch was cut to fit the opening not laped
![[IMAGE]](nose10.jpg)
Both patches in place and vent area in cking fit ,,note raised area in center of panel and open section at the bottom when the lip stops
Here is the add on section you must have and modify its for a 71 not a 73-up ,i cut a lip off and welded the add on section to it
Note again the many spot welds no beads ,,trying to control warpage as much as possible
Here is the same section welded up ,,it warped inward a bit, would have to have a small amout of filler to blend it in
Another angle all patches in place

Ok the full nose all welded in just hadn't cut out the turn signal holes in the 71 location at the bottom,,for more info contact me thru e-mail.
