This is the First VW bus that i restored, at the time i was doing body work as well as sheetmetal. This is a 62 Hatch Top, Flip Seat Westy, It's owner is Danny Morganelli of Wrightsville Beach NC. I started this one in June of 94 and finished it in June of 95. This was Danny's Daily driver as well as a well used camper and was shown to boot. It brought in over 20 trophies an took The First in it's class at Mannassas VA. twice i think, and was voted best bus at Buses On The Blueridge camping event 2 years running. This bus was To our sorrow lost to an engine bay fire in July of 98 , in Raliegh NC while on its way to Boone NC, for the High Country Bus Festival. Its presently resting in back of my shop minus the nose which was used in the resurrection of a 57 deluxe, Danny is looking for a suitible donor body to install his running gears into.
